Printer Troubleshooting

Most printer issues are related to windows permissions. Please find your error below and follow the instructions for fixing the issue.

“unable to initialize printer” Printing process locks up forever. Doesn’t ever attempt to Create a file in FID_pdf folder
    • It’s attempting to print to a locked NUL port (which has been captured by one-note most likely)
      • Open Microsoft one note
      • De-select Nul port as default
      • Open Enliven Printer
      • Select Nul port
"Your PDF attachment was not successfully generated”
    • Check permissions on the folder C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Dynamics\GPVERSION\Fid_PDF (entire GP folder to be safe)
    • Make sure there is available disk space on the machine
    • Check printer permissions
      • This may occur if printer is manually installed
Fid_PDF folder has a 0kb file
  1. From the Windows Search menu, search for printers and select "Devices and Printers"Screen_Shot_2020-01-03_at_7.03.43_AM.png
  2. Right click on "Enliven Internal PDF Converter" and select "Printer Properties"

  3. Select the Advanced tab

  4. Click the option to Print directly to the printer
  5. Click OK to finish.
